The aim of this course is to provide people in managerial and leadership positions in: Government, Parastatals, Private, Community Based Organisations and Non- Government Organisations in the practical and hands on process and roadmap of strategic planning, which is an integral part of management and leadership in all organisations in order to meet the ever changing business environment. The course analyses the environment in which the organisation is operating, defines the vision and mission of the organisation. Strategic planning encompasses the formulation of goals, objectives and strategies to be adopted by the organisation in order to compete in the market as well as the monitoring and evaluation of the strategic direction of the organisation. This course covers a broad range of topics that include:

  • After this course, participants must be able to
  • Apply the steps in the strategic planning process
  • Recognise and appreciate their relationship between organisational plans and strategies
  • Apply SWOT analysis in studying and understanding the business environment of their organisations
  • Assess the attractiveness of their core business after taking into consideration all competitive forces
  • Develop corporate strategies and operational strategies for their business organisations
