The goal of this programme is to enable Early Childhood Education trainees to become effective practitioners and professionals who can evaluate, analyse and reflect on professional practice in Early Childhood settings. Learners will be exposed to theory, research and practice, as well as the use of technology in teaching and learning. More specifically, the programme aims to strengthen the professional competencies of practitioners by developing their practitioner understanding of the various methods and approaches of organising learning experiences in early childhood settings.

• B.Ed. degree is a four-year programme for BGCSE Certificate holders and a two-year programme for the Diploma Certificate holder.

The following requirements shall apply:

• Certificate IV (BGCSE) or equivalent with a pass in English Language.
• Diploma in Early Childhood Development (ECD) or Early Childhood Education (ECE) OR
• Any related diploma qualification awarded by other universities or institutions, acceptable to BOU
• Special Entry: Admission may also be based on Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), applied on a case-by-case basis as guided by the BOU RPL Policy. Candidates who do not have the minimum academic qualifications stated above but have five years relevant work experience in a related field, will be considered upon satisfying the requirements of the School’s Board that might include an entrance interview.
