The Certificate in Distance Education programme is intended primarily for adults or young adults who have some experience in adult education and/or distance education who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in the field of distance education. It aims to facilitate professional development in aspects of distance education practice by enhancing personal development in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) leadership and management, decision making, problem solving, critical thinking and research.

The minimum duration of the programme is one year. However, those who are unable to complete within the one year will be given an extra year to complete the programme.

• Minimum entry requirement is a recognised senior secondary school leaving certificate (e.g.: COSC, BGCSE, O’level, Matric etc.).
• Candidates should have computer skills since the programme offered fully online.
• Candidates should have access to internet or have internet connectivity.
• Candidates should be a practitioner in a distance education organisation or an aspirant for the same.
