Rationale for the Programme
The Bachelors in Business and Entrepreneurship (BBE) is an applied and tiered bachelor’s programme offered at three levels, described as entry and exit points. The programme of study is broken down as follows:
Level 1: 120 Credits.
Level 2: 240 Credits.
Level 3: 360 Credits.
The Bachelor of Business and Entrepreneurship was developed to address the lack of entrepreneurial skill in the country and to support the creation and growth of small business. Small business success will lead to better quality of life for the entrepreneurs and their families and will result in a stronger local and regional economy as more graduates are produced. It aims to produce graduates that can successfully seek new business opportunities and apply various management skills to grow it. The target audiences of the programme are school leavers who are seeking academic qualification for employment as well as mid-career professional who wish to change their current career status and become entrepreneurs. The programme is offered through open and distance learning mode over seven semesters, that is, two semesters per year. Assessment is through topic activities, self-assessment exercises, tutor marked assignments and an examination per course.
